Dr. Arika Easley-Houser recently received her Ph.D. in History in May 2014 from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in Brunswick with a concentration in American History, specializing in African American and Native American histories. She received her BA from Dartmouth College, her MA from Columbia University and pursued post-graduate coursework at New York University. She has taught college-level history courses for seven years and worked in student affairs for ten years in multicultural affairs, student advising, and residential life and education. In her spare time, she spends time with her husband and newborn son, taking zumba classes, and reading and writing in local coffee shops.
