The Library provides service and maintains a collection in accordance with the stated mission of Rutgers Preparatory School. Every member of the community, faculty, students, staff and parents, has borrowing privileges.
The Silverman Library/Media Center staff of two professional librarians and two paraprofessionals serves the RPS community from 7:30 AM to 5 PM each school day.
The Silverman Library/Technology Center’s collection comprises approximately 31,000 materials including books, CDs, DVDs, interactive multimedia products, AV equipment, LCD projectors, and laptop computers. At present, the library subscribes to print and digital periodicals and four daily newspapers. There are also Internet-based subscription services that enhance the collection i.e. EBSCO, ProQuest Newspapers Nine, SIRS Discoverer, Gale Literature Resource Center, audiobooks, OverDrive eBook Collection, Worldbook Online, Grolier online resources, Facts on File Reference Center, ABC-Clio History Database, and others. Students and faculty can access these databases at school and elsewhere from any computer.
