Common Core State Standards in Mathematics

The Common Core State Standards in Mathematics cover concepts through a typical Pre-Calculus program.  We offer an individualized track for students to go far beyond the standards.  Over the last three years nearly 60% of our students have taken at least one year of Calculus and therefore spend their last year(s) of Upper School covering concepts that exceed the Common Core State Standards.  RPS offers a series of courses that teach concepts not covered in the Common Core State Standards.  These courses include: Calculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, Multivariable Calculus, Statistics, AP Statistics, and Discrete Math.

80% of the students who enrolled in either AP Calculus AB or AP Calculus BC in 2010 demonstrated college level proficiency by scoring at least a 3 on the exam.   Over 40% earned the highest possible score (5), proving their mastery of these concepts.
