Being Prepared in a Digital Environment

  • Be sure that the iPad meets the requirements outlined by the Technical Services Department in order to connect to the Rutgers Preparatory network and to be ready for class.

  • You should consider your iPad as you would any other class material and should bring it to class daily.

  • You are responsible for the management of your iPad, i.e. making sure that it is charged, loaded with applications as required by teachers, that the memory is managed properly.

  • You are responsible to have the following school required apps: Pages, Keynote, GarageBand, iMovie, Notability, and Photon Flash Player.

  • In the classroom, your iPad should be used solely as an educational tool.  Reserve the use of social media or entertainment for your personal time.

  • Be sure to familiarize yourself with the Acceptable Use Policy found in Rutgers Prep’s 101 Things and use the iPad accordingly.

  • Teachers will be using iPads in different ways; be sure to consult your teacher with questions about particular class expectations and acceptable use.

  • It is your responsibility to keep track of your iPad and any accessories. Rutgers Preparatory School is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • You are urged to enable the “Find My iPad” feature of the iPad to assist in locating a potentially misplaced iPad.
